Hubbard's Cubbard

I've never been here and looking at the pictures posted, i may never. Is anything fresh? It all looks frozen then fried. The fries look like they never change the oil. Even the hamburger buns look awful....how do you screw up hamburger buns?

They ran out knives and there was only about 20 people in there. Food was bland and just meh

Sausage was cold and hard as a hockey puck. Biscuits and gravy were very bland. Biscuit not thoroughly cooked. Service was average, priced high for quality of food. We will not go back. Much better food and value elsewhere.

Long time downtown Garland eatery for breakfast and lunch. Comfort food menu with breakfast all hours. Young female wait staff gave perfunctory service.

Over all really great place to eat.

Excellent dishes and outstanding service. All the staff is very friendly and promptu to take your order, bring your dishes or refill your coffee. The exterior looks like and abandoned place, but the interior is shine, clean and new. Whenever i'm in Garland, I'll return to Hubbard"s

I love Hubbard's Cubbard. It's a great family spot for breakfast. I got pancakes, bacon, sausage, ham, and hash browns as a breakfast. I left feeling stuffed and needed a nap. lol They will definitely fill that craving for breakfast in a fantastic way! All the servers are high school aged kids and it is nice to see the kids working to gain some spending money, but also gives this place a very down home feel. We never see a dissatisfied customer and a lot of people keep it busy!

Usually go Sunday mornings with my mom. The food has always been good, the staff friendly, & it's always clean. You can tell many are regulars by their interactions with the staff. Has a diner feel with a counter to sit at if you wish.

Love this place. Always pleasant. Even walking in at closing ( which we didn't realize) they were so nice, fast and very attentive.

We went to this little gem in downtown Garland six days ago, read the reviews here in Google and gave it a try, the service is excellent, place is really clean and inviting,very nice atmosphere.We ordered migas with chorizo and chicken fried steak, food was cooked fast and great flavor, waitress was always refilling the coffee and very attentive of us, even though we went one hour before closing (some other restaurants are always rushing u..) we really enjoyed our lunch and will definitely go back. Prices are great for the amount of food they give you.

Lovely diner with old fashioned home cooking. They are very friendly to interracial couples and families. We're definitely going to come back here for breakfast on the weekends!

Fabulous home cooking, before the current crisis. Have not gotten any carry out from here. Hope they survive. Pie selections are wonderful 😃

Food was delicious. We ordered the catfish platter. Plenty of food. We needed a to-go box. The pickled green tomatoes were amazing. Rustic decor, warm and inviting atmosphere. The table service was Terrible!The waitress took our order and never returned. Another waitress brought the order, but No one came back to ask if we needed anything or to refill our drinks. I even had to go up to the counter to get the to go box.

Local deli with all day breakfast, home style platters, sandwiches and Tex-Mex standards, all delicious with huge portions.

Not what it used to be. Service was horrible. 15 minutes for a menu. 15 more minutes for coffee but no silverware (needed spoon). Brought spoon only (no napkin) and was told silverware comes with the food. Ordered and waited 15 minutes more for coffee refill or food (anything!). Waving at waitress with cup but refused to make eye contact. So we walked out to never return. Waitresses looked like they weren't happy at all as if something was wrong. Something has changed

Always a delicious spot. First time ordering tamales and was not prepared for how huge they are! With the leftovers I took home I had two additional meals. Coffee was hot, service was sweet, food was fast and delicious. This is definitely a favorite place and we will be back again and again.

Old timer cooking and menu with young waitstaff. Typically eat breakfast here, which I prefer over lunch menu.

Food ok, nothing special. Wait staff very friendly but young kiddos with not a lot of polish lol. Great little country feel, charming building and trinkets decorating the place.

The food was decent. The coffee was terrible. And the service was decent at best. We weren't checked on by anyone after we ordered our food. I never was asked if I wanted a refill on my nasty coffee which was actually probably for the best. Only reason it gets 2 starts is cause the bacon was dank af

Been in Garland for 21 years and did not know about this little spot. Food is great, service is friendly and inviting. Probably the best burger I've had in years. Will definitely come back with family and friends.

My first time to visit and the food was excellent, the waitresses were amazing and the decor was great.2nd visit today.They have 2 handicap parking spots but do not have wheel chair accessibility from the parking lot into their restaurant. We had to go down past 2 other businesses adjacent to Hubbard's in order to get in.Not acceptable.#americanswithdisabilitiesact

Upgrade the gravy to sausage gravy. Dont ask questions, just trust me.

This place is like it was plucked from a different era. The food is great and reasonably priced. The waitresses are very friendly. All in all very good experience. If your in Garland for breakfast, this is a must!

You know. 3 stars ain't a bad thing. The gravy and the biscuits just didn't hit right. The service was great. The pancakes are good. Every other plate got eaten up. Just the biscuits and gravy. They were different today. I think it was the sausage. Dry.

I am a regular at Hubbards in downtown Garland. In fact I am there almost every day, usually for breakfast, but occasionally for lunch! The food is reasonably priced, the waitresses are very friendly, and in 10 years, I have had maybe two items not up to par! One item I really wish they would change the recipe for is their onion rings. Rings should be light and airy and these are more like hockey pucks, heavy, with overpowering batter.
